What is Bluejacking?

You have heard about it in the news... But what exactly is Bluejacking?
First you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are tones of modern devices that have bluetooth. Mobile phones PDAs and laptops are just a few.
Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook contacts pictures and notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices, over a range of about 10 meters.
So, we´ve got past the boring suff. Now, using a mobile with B-tooth you can create a phone book contact and write a message eg. ´Hello´ in thename field.
Then you can search for other B-tooth phones, and send them the contact.

Why Bluejacking?

I will break down the word ´Bluejacking´ so its easier to understand how it got its name.
Blue is taken from Bluetooth, the technologyBluejacking uses.
jacking is derived from both ´ajack´ (who introduced the sport) and´hijacking´ even though it dosent resemble hijacking at all. There is on takeing private data from victims.
