Ingredients
1neck of mutton
3oz dried peas
3oz of pearl barley
2qt of water
Salt and pepper
1 large cup of diced carrots
1 large cup of diced turnip
1 onion and 1 leek
1 white cabbage shredded
1 large cup of grated carrot
1 tbsp of chopped parsley
Soak peas overnight. Wash meat,put into a stock pot with water,peas,barley,salt and pepper.
Add the diced carrot,turnip,chopped onions and leek, and simmer for three hours.
Add shredded cabbage and grated carrot, and simmer for half an hour.
Before serving add parsley.
