Nishan Sahib is the name given to the Standard of the KHALSA. It has a Khanda drawn on a triangular piece of orange coloured cloth.The flag post is also generally covered with the same cloth and also has a Khanda at the top.

It is laid down in Sikh RAHIT MARYADA ie Code of Conduct that every Sikh should daily recite BANIS. The BANIS are.....
1. JAPJI SAHIB by GURU NANAK DEV JI for AMRIT VAILA.
2. JAPU SAHIB by GURU GOBIND SINGH JI for AMRIT VAILA.
3. RAHRAS SAHIB which comprises hymns of GURU NANAK DEV JI, GURU RAM DAS JI and GURU ARJUN DEV JI to be recited at sunset.
4. SOHILA by GURU NANAK DEV JI which is recited at the time of retiring to bed.
