Haunted Places to stay in Britain
Dalston Hall, Carlisle
Dalston Hall near Carlisle dates back to Norman, and possibly Roman times. It has a strong history of hauntings and had featured on numerous TV programmes about ghosts. There is a blocked up room in the cellars and rooms 4, 9 and 12 are particularly haunted. Sightings by staff and guests happen all the time. Dalston Hall, Carlisle -as to be featured in the next series of Most Haunted. This ancient border fortress, now a hotel, is according to Derek Acorah "One of the most frightening places he has investigated." The price includes overnight stay in luxurious accommodation in the Hall itself, 2 course dinner, breakfast and the ghost night itself which begins at 6pm.
Moresby Hall, Whitehaven, Cumbria
Moresby Hall Has been on Most Haunted. £110 per person (based on 2 sharing, ask for single rates) incl. fine dinner, quality accommodation, good breakfast and ghost night. Moresby Hall is a Jacobean mansion which has featured on Living TV's "Most Haunted" series. It is built on a Roman graveyard and adjoins a haunted church which is built on the Roman Fort itself. There is also a blocked tunnel that goes about 30 feet before meeting the blockage. Moresby is a private house run as a country guest house. No smoking and groups are asked to respect the antique items.
