Here are some great cruising spots I've been to when I was living in God's Own Country. Anyone with more recent info please feel free to update.
1. Subhash Park, Kochi :
The no. 1 spot in Kerala has to be Subhash Park, Kochi. Reasonably safe & open cruising here in the evenings, although every now and then there have been reports of a few nasty anti-gay locals making trouble.
2. Thrissoor park :
The main park in Thrissoor is great for cruising in the evenings, particularly Saturdays. Safe as well, from what I hear.
3. KSRTC bus stand :
In Thiruvanandapuram, Thambanoor KSRTC bus stand is very active in the evening rush hours (beware of cops in sheeps' clothing). Almost all the KSRTC bus stations and their toilets.
4.museum lawns :
The museum lawns in Thiruvanandapuram are also fertile hunting grounds.
5. For those commuting from Kochi to Thiruvanandapuram, a ride on the Day Express evening train will prove unforgetful. Just stand by the doorways and have fun.
6. Festival time! Events like Thrissoor pooram and Shivaratri (on the lovely beaches of Aluva) give superb opportunities to meet and revel with the local gay population. Just stick around the festival grounds after dusk and the action will find you!
7. And finally, as in any other place most public toilets in major bus stands are cruisy, although the quality varies.
A WORD OF CAUTION: Although there are plenty of lovely gay men in Kerala, mainstream Kerala is very conservative/ intolerant in matters of sex, straight or gay. DO BE DISCRETE!
