Rangers boss Alex McLeish declared himself "satisfied" after the opening-day win over Livingston.
"Sometimes the party is spoiled," he said, referring to the pre-match celebrations of last year's title win.
"To be successful we need depth - there are a lot of young players in the squad - and ideally we would want 16 or 17 top players and a few youngsters.
"But we know if we can keep our top 11 on the pitch for most of the season we'll be a greater threat."
