Niobe ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In the stories about Artemis, Her punishments for blasphemy - particularly where She, Her mother Leto and Her twin brother Apollo are concerned - have always been harsh, and frequently lethal. Niobe, boasting of her many children, mocked Leto for having only one son and one daughter, and even suggested to the Thebans that they worship her instead of Leto. While Apollo, at the insult to his mother, killed all of Niobe's sons with His arrows Artemis aimed Hers at Niobe's daughters, and having killed all the children they finally killed Niobe also.
