Thunder Run
Equipment: -
• High electric conducting metal clothing
• Helmet
• Running Shoes
What the Sport is about:
The aim is to wrap your self in various different metals such as Aluminium, Copper and Steel. The more metal you wrap round you the greater the difficulty, which could make your overall score higher than other people’s scores. You will then need to run a 2-acre meadow right on a high lighting volt thunder storm! O yeah, your chances of getting to the other side are very slim! While you are running you will be running over land mines, jumping off shear cliff faces and at the end attempt to climb a 60ft mountain to reach the finishing post. To make it more nerve raking you will be over looked by a panel of five judges watching how you jump of the cliff (without a parachute!) and all the other stunts you have to do before reaching the finish line. The better you do the stunts the more points you will get on to your time points. The will be four rounds in Thunder Run which are the heats, quarterfinals (if the is enough competitors/teams), semi-finals and the Grand finals. In the heats the is just a one straight path to the finishing line but all is not as easy where you still need to dodge the lighting volts. In this round you will only have time instead if being marked on points. You will run the course 2 times in total where you will get an average. The first two people with the quickest times will go through to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals you will have one obstacle (as well as the lighting volts): the land mines. This time you will run the course 3 times where you will be scored on points. The two people with the highest point’s will got through to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals you will now be faced with two dangerous obstacles: land mines and the shear cliff face jumps. You will first hit the land mine area then hit the 5 shear cliff face jumps. You will do this course 4 times before the end is in sight. You will again be scored on points where the first three people will go through. The are three events in Thunder Run which are the single thunder runner, duel thunder runner and the team thunder runner (which consists of 4 people). Every member of your team will have to make it to the finish or you will be disqualified as well if anyone in your team dies (losing limps in this Sport is acceptable where you are most likely to anyway). In the finals you will face three obstacles: Land mines, Shear cliff faces, and the long dreaded 60ft climb (without safety hardness). The land mines will take up a third of your 3 hectare run where then you will come to the 20 shear cliff face jumps to finish it off with that 60ft climb to the finishing post. Then you will have to do that run another 4 times! The time average of the five runs and the quality of the stunts will add up to your final score. You will have a chance to get 1st for Gold, 2nd for Silver or 3rd for Bronze. Do you still feel like having a run? Running with a metal jacket and a wet damp ground won’t be so bad, won’t it? Only competing will tell.

Foot Run
Equipment: -
• Extra Foot Skin
What the Sport is about:
The aim is to go bare footed and run or walk a varied distance which depends on what event you enter over some steaming hot charcoal and wood which can reach temperatures of up to 150C! The are four rounds in Foot Run which is the heats, quarterfinals (if enough competitors/teams enter), semi-finals and the Grand final. In the heats you will be running over the steamed hot coal of the course for the required distance for the quickest time you can to have a chance of going through to the quarterfinals. Only the two fastest people can go through to the quarterfinals. Then in the quarterfinals the will be people throwing all hot coal and ash while you walk across the hot ash and wood. This time you will be marked on points where a hit form any of the hot coal being lobed at you will give you deductions in points. The first two people who can get the highest points will go through to the semi-finals. Now in the semi-finals you will have to run two lengths of the course which again more hot ash is lobed at you with an extra team throwing more steaming hot ash at you to make it twice as hard to get a good score. If you get a good score (after probably lots of deductions in your score after many hits). Then the first three people with the highest score will get through to the Grand final. The are three events in Foot Run which are single runner, double runner and Team runner. You can be disqualified from this sport if you lose any limbs (unlikely), death of self or cheat in the scores. Any disqualification will mean 1 point off your country’s total score in The Dangerous Games. While if you die you will get a nice charcoal medal to let every one know on your failure! For a list of medals go to page 69 and 70. In the final you will be running 5 lengths of the hot charcoal course while a forest fire will surround you. The only way to get out is to finish your 5 lengths and run as quick as you can to the finishing line far from the forest fire. Luckily the will be no people lobbing charcoal at you as of the shear danger of the fire! We don’t want the sports to be too easy. The people who can run very quick and don’t get burnt to death like a helpless chicken could be 1st for Gold, 2nd for Silver and 3rd for Bronze. Do you think you can stand the pain of heat? Can you escape form the forest of death in the final? Only competing will tell.
