THIS IS AS BAD AS IT GETS! It's 7:30am. I've just woken-up, not had a shave or a shower. And I'm having my first ciggie of the day. Correction: I am going to TRY to make it my last ciggie. I've had enough of coughing, wheezing and that mad panic of rushing up the newsagent for another packet when I find I'm out of fags first thing in the morning. Then taking the first drag and wondering, What was that all about?! Disgusting behaviour. It's my work-colleague Caroline who got me thinking. She's right, it's not the risk of cancer that concerns me, it's the thought of being tied to an oxygen mask because I cannot breathe. So, here you see me at my worst, "enjoying" what is hopefully the end of an eleven year habit. We shall see, but wish me luck. So, to recap since I started this blog, that's both pubs and smoking have now got the thumbs-down. And it's only my third day, for goodness sake! But, really guys, there must be more enjoyable ways to abuse our bodies. Contact me with ideas!
