In Clarines, Anzoátegui state population, the peasants do not eat chicken, but they breed in their homes. So if you see any drop in the bush, or catch them happen, because it could be the Phantom Chicken.

Legend has it that nearly a century ago, a farmer was on the road Clarines, when he saw a beautiful chicken, fat and full of health. Thinking about a delicious sancocho, travelers trying to catch it without success. Followed the animal until a thick, dry bush and found a tomb solotaria with his cross. The Hen was laid quietly on that grave, and a few seconds later there was an egg and mysteriously disappeared among the weeds.

The man picked up the egg, thinking it had been at least something of that pursuit, but when he had in his hand turned into a large round stone, such as in East Guarataras call.

Shocked, the farmer immediately threw Guaratara that was to fall on the grave. And after a long career came to an end to Clarines where told what had happened.

There was an old man recounted the story of a man who lived in the village and, after committing many crimes, was murdered by one of its enemigos.Ese man was buried in that forgotten grave in the bush. Since then, his tormented soul wanders in the form of a hen that lays eggs and turn into stones, so it makes people throw stones on his grave. And for every stone you receive, one can be forgiven their sins.
