The cruciform or cross can not only be found in Christianit but also in Wicca for example the celtic equal armed cross or the Egyptian Ankh or Crux Ansata.Its the ancient universal image of the cosmos reduced to its simplest terms-two intersecting lines making the four points of direction.These stood for the four cardinal points,the phases of the moon,and the four great gods of the elements.The celtic cross incorporating a circle in the center of the cross bar appears to synthesize Pagan cosmic symbolism.The cross suprisingly is Pagan in origin and was adopted by the Christians to attract Pagans into the new religion of christianity.
