Its spring of'57 and bobby goes to pick up his date. He's a pretty hip guy with his own car. When he gets to the door, carrie's father opens it and says she's not ready yet, but invites him in. "thanks, sir" says bobby and in he goes. Carrie's father asks what they're planning to do that evening, and bobby politely replies they'll probably go to a movie and then the soda shop afterwards. Carrie's father responds, "why dont you two go out and screw? I hear all the kids are doing it these days. " naturally this comes as a shock to bobby, who asks the older man to repeat what he said. "oh", says her father, "carrie really likes to screw. I think she'd screw all night if we let her." Bobby's eyes light up, and he immediately changes his plans for the evening. Carrie comes down stairs in her little poodle skirt and says she's ready to go. Almost breathless with anticipation, bobby escorts her out. About 2o minutes later, a thoroughly dishelleved carrie rushes back inside, slams the door and screams at her father, "Dammit, Daddy! The Twist! Its called the twist!"
