~Ur brain needs exercise just like a muscle. If u use it often & in the right ways, u will become a more skilled thinker & increase ur ability to focus. But if u never use ur brain, or abuse it with harmful chemicals. Ur ability to think & learn will deteriorate~

~ * ~ MINIMIZE TV WATCHING. This is a hard sell. People love vegetating infront of the tv. The problem is, watching tv doesn't use ur mental capacity OR allow it to recharge. Its like having energy sapped out of a muscle without the health benefits of exercise. When u feel like relaxing try reading instead. If ur too tired, listen to music. When ur with ur friends or family leave the tv off & have a conversation. All of these things use ur mind more than tv & allow u to relax ~ * ~

~ * ~ EXERCISE. People think u will learn more by not exercising & using the time to read a book instead. But time spent exercising always leads to greater learning because it improves productivity during the time afterwards. Using ur body clears ur head & creates a wave of energy. Afterwards u feel invigorated & can concentrate more easily ~ * ~

~ * ~ READ CHALLENGING BOOKS. If u want to improve ur thinking & writing ability u should read books that make u focus. Reading a classic novel can change ur view of the world & will make u think in more precise, elegant english. Don't be afraid to look up a word if u don't know it & don't be afraid of dense passages. Take ur time, re-read when necessary. The challenge of learning new ideas is far more exciting than any tacky suspence-thriller ~ * ~

~ * ~ EARLY TO BED, EARLY TO RISE. Sleep deprivation makes it hard to concentrate. U'll be most rejuvenated if u go to bed early & don't sleep more than 8 hours. If u stay up late & compensate by sleeping late, u'll wake up lethargic & have trouble focusing. Early morning hours are the most tranquil & productive. Waking up early gives u more productive hours & maximizes ur mental acuity all day. If u have the opportunity, take 10-20 minute naps when u r drowsy. Anything longer will make u lethargic ~ * ~

~ * ~ TAKE TIME TO REFLECT. Our lives get so hectic that we become overwhelmed without realizing it. It becomes difficult to concentrate because nagging thoughts keep interrupting. Spending some time alone in reflection gives u a chance to organize ur thoughts & prioritize ur responsibilities. Afterwards u'll have a better understanding of whats important & what isn't. The unimportant stuff won't bother u anymore & ur mind will feel less encumbered. Anything that allows prolonged solitude will do ~ * ~
