If ever your Mum and Dad told you first impressions are everything then believe it now.. Here is the first Betting Update for BB8...
When the housemates went into the Big Bro’ house last night, those little films of them explaining who they were and what they were about effectively sealed their fate.
Take Charley, the self-proclaimed “It-Girl of South London”!! Now, under normal circumstances she’s a good-looking girl with the words ‘ former pole dancer’ on her CV – got to be worth more than a few votes in certain quarters – but then she opened her mouth.
She likes “money, shopping and clubbing at celebrity hang-outs”, drives a car which was bought by her footballing cousin Kieran Richardson (a Man Utd substitute for those who didn’t know) – but she can’t be bothered to stick a job for more than a few minutes. Gotta love that, haven’t you?? Nope, and neither did the punters – 47-1 already!!! She’s got some work to do (oh, but I’m forgetting she doesn’t like a bit of graft!!)…
But contrast her with crazy mum / former sexual health worker, Carole. She proves that if you make your entrance waving like an eccentric granny with a house full of cats, you’re already onto a winner. 12-1 this morning in a competition that history confidently predicts she has no chance of winning.
But just to prove that those who watch Big Brother like blokes more than women – remember, only Kate Lawler and Nadia have carried the female flag to the top of the polls in seven series – Betfair punters reckon a guy is STILL the most likely winner. With no men actually the house as yet, is that logical? No - but then this is Big Brother…
