Except 4 neil, who dyed his hair stark white, d other band members wore their hair jet-black n sprayed thick n spiky wit d strongest hair-spray they could get their hands on. Motley crue 1st started developin their luk when playin in small clubs. 4 lil 2 no money, they were able 2 put on wild n extreme stage shows. SixX used 2 pour rubbin alcohol on his leather pants n light himself on fire; he quit d stunt when he singed off all his leg hair. The band constructed their stage costumes out of primer cord, duct tape n parachute nylon. By 1985 , they were spendin $20,000 on their costumes alone, n wat they first learned bout puttin on a gud show in clubs translated perfectly into d big arenas..
