The Table
A snooker table has a level bed consisting of 5cm thick Italian or Portuguese slate, a green cloth surface and cloth covered rubber cushions.
The Balls
The most popular balls today, Super Crystalate, which are used in all major championships, are made from a resin compound and afford the modern player a greater chance to play a wide range of shots.
Rests
Often a player finds it difficult to reach a certain shot. Rests are the implements which allow him to do so. A standard rest is about 1.5m long with a X shaped head. The rests are made from plastic or steel. The steal ones are better because they are heavier and less likely to move. There are other types of rests to get into difficult positions.
Other
There are other things which are definitly needed, a cue, chalk, and a case.
