It was a golden day for Shah Rukh Khan and his film Chak De!India as the film swept nine honours at the 9th IIFA ceremony held yesterday. The King of Bollywood, who gave the show a miss reigned the award ceremony as his production house Red Chillies Entertainment's Om Shanti Om also won five trophies.
Before the announcement it was known to everybody who will win the best actor award. Shah Rukh Khan got the award for his superb and mind-blowing acting as a Hockey coach for Chak De!India. As he was not present, the producer of the film Yash Chopra received the award.
Kareena Kapoor won best actress for Jab We Met. Irfaan Khan & Konkana Sharma were best actor & actress in supporting roles. Shimit Amin won the best director award for Chak De!India while Javed Akhter bagged best lyrics award for "Main Aagar Kahoon".
The awards ceremony had a good number of Bollywood biggies but the audiences really missed there favourite actor,
Shah Rukh Khan.
