RNBDJ: Box office result (Day 1)
Yash Raj Film's last release of the year Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma & directed by Aditya Chopra has become a winner after the first day.
Though it started slowly with a 50% start in the morning shows but the film is improving with each show and had hit 70% in the afternoon shows and night shows are going to improve further at 90-100%.
The first day opening looks to be heading for around with 80%+ with some north indian cities being stronger.
Delhi/NCR:
RNBDJ started off well in multiplexes of Delhi/NCR & fair single screens had gone into overdrive as the evening & nights shows have full houses. Delhi will have a nett collection of around 80 lakhs on day 1 from 31 cinemas (Second best of the year) while Gurgaon will collect over 20 lakhs from 7 cinemas.
South:
South is very very strong for RNBDJ. Punjab saw a record opening.
Mumbai:
All eyes were on Mumbai which was mostly suffering from audience crisis. But RNBDJ shows an impressive opening in Mumbai. After a slow start at morning with 60%, the film managed to pick 90% at evening.
It will earn 1.25 crore nett from 94 cineams which is one of the bests for 2008.
Ahmedabad/Baroda:
RNBDJ has scored well here. Baroda also sees a good opening.
Pune:
Pune is similar to Mumbai with picking up at the evening shows.
On the whole, after a long time YRF is going to see a big hit again.
