Shah Rukh Khan's one and only film of 2008, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has done an impressive business at indore multiplexes over it's first weekend (Fri-Sun). It has got the second biggest opening of the year. It's earning is much higher than one of the biggest grossers of the year, Golmaal Returns but a little lower than year's biggest grosser Singh Is Kinng.
In it's first weekend, RNBDJ has earned Rs.29,46,800 from Inox, Velocity & Adlabs. Golmal R. earned Rs.23,57,250 in it's first weekend while SIK earned Rs.29,67,250.
So, RNBDJ can now only be compared with SIK. But we should remember that RNBDJ has been released in such a time when Bollywood is greatly suffering for the lack of audiences due to the recent terror attack while SIK released at a very convenient period.
Moreover, SIK was released with lots of promotions while RNBDJ had no promotion at all.
So, without doubt it's a great achievement for Yash Raj films as well as King Khan to remove the word "terror" from audience's mind and bring them back to hall again.
