An ordinary thought, an ans. & a que. for critics
Unlike Adi's last two films, DDLJ & Mohb., his latest directional venture RNBDJ couldn't satisfy the critics. Some critics (I don't want to mention name) claimed SRK's playing the Raj game till the very end as one of the biggest faults of the movie. They asked why Raj did so as he could easily earn Taani's love by expressing who he really was.
But I couldn't agree with them. Here's my ordinary thought:
(It may be fault. Forgive me if it's so. But it's really the words from my heart)
The fact is that, inspite of being the similar man, Raj & Suri weren't the same person. Though Suri at first transformed himself into Raj only to get his wife's love, when Taani became agreed to elope with him, he could understand Taani didn't love the real person who he is. From the bottom of his heart he is Suri. Raj might be another person, another character. So, when Suri understood Taani's feelings, his heart broke. He wanted to live with Taani being another man as he loved her hugely.
But that "he" wouldn't be the real "he". In real, he is uncool, ordinary & beautifully boring Mr.Surinder Sahni. He wanted to win Taani for him, not for Raj.
So, what's up, Mr.& Mrs. Critics?
At last hats off to Shah Rukh Khan again for his wonderful performance as both Suri & Raj. If one couldn't know SRK earlier (Is that possible?), it was hard to believe that these twos are real person. Not for his moustache or heavy glass, but for different acting, different speech delivering & different expressions.
