Yash Raj Film's Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which released five weeks ago on December 12th has earned a phenomenal 180 crore worldwide till date. Its total collections for first five weeks in India are 83 crores nett (i.e.gross collections of close to 140 crores).
The film was released in a time when Bollywood was facing a very hard time because of the 26/11. Moreover, the film was released with very simple promotions. So, the trade pundits had lots of anxieties if the film would do well or not. But removing all of these, SRK-YRF combo has rocked again!
The film has become the highest grosser film for Yash Raj till date. It has surpassed the entire run collections of Dhoom 2 (80.6 crore) in 5 weeks. It has also surpassed the biggest hits of last two years, Singh Is Kinng & Om Shanti Om comfortably. Now it is only second to Ghajini on the basis of India nett collection.
But in the overseas, RNBDJ is unparalalled. Its total gross collections for all overseas markets for first five weeks are eye-shattering $8 million (i.e. around 40 crore) & is ahead of Ghajini, Singh Is Kinng, Om Shanti Om & Dhoom 2.
In UK, it has earned $1.25 million which is the highest of last two years. In Middle East, it has grossed a staggering $5.25 million which is the highest ever in this region. USA sees business of an impressive $2.1 million.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has evoked a sensational response from audiences all over the world which is clearly reflected in its record breaking run.
