FLASH GORDON with its Queen soundtrack,kinky overtones,damn fine womens costumes, overthetop acting, directing & truely imaginative fx & godawful dialouge...Its a brilliant 'switch brain off, sit back & enjoy urself' movie.

BOOK: Anything by Steven Donaldson, esp the 'GAP SERIES'
Posibly the best scifi series (5 books) in existance. He even manages to make the political stuff more interesting than the space battles.

Anything by Robin Hobb-esp the 'Assassin' and 'Live Ship' trilogies. Possibly the best fantasy author alive-best thought out worlds and civilisations since Tolkien.
