Welcome to The Trademark Rants.
´Pile of stinking shit´
WARNING: Contains SummerSlam spoilers
SummerSlam is regarded as the second biggest PPV of the year for the WWE, last night, it lost that honor. An extremely disappointing show, they might as well not have bothered, lets take a look.
World Tag Team Championships: La Resistance © def Dudleyz
Nothing much to say, La Resistance retained after Rob Conway´s interference, a good opener as the crowd were really into it.
Undertaker def A-Train
Typical big man match, punch, kick, punch, kick, BIG SLAM, punch, kick etc etc. End result being ´Taker downing A-Train to move onto a main event program again.
Shane def Eric Bischoff
An extremely disappointing match saved only by Coach´s heel turn. Shane scored the win with the ´Shane McMahon Bump of Doom™´
Fatal 4-Way for the United States Championship: Eddie © def Benoit, Tajiri & Rhyno
Fantastic match by 4 of the best workers in the WWE today. Eddie came out on top as expected, expect him to lose the title in the coming weeks so he can move onto a main event feud with Kurt Angle.
WWE Championship: Kurt Angle © def Brock Lesnar
Don´t really understand this one, Kurt not only cleanly defeated the top heel on SmackDown!, he also destroyed his manager, in the process making Kurt look like a monster and Brock a pussy. I hope the WWE realises that they can´t have Brock/Angle wrestle again for a while, there´d be no point. Nonetheless an excellent match, though not as good as their WrestleMania encounter, nasty F5 botch by Lesnar though, dropping Angle on his head. I look forward to Angle moving on to a fresh feud with Eddie.
Kane def Rob Van Dam
Another disppointing match, just a complete botch fest. Both men were certainly not on their game last night. Kane´s falling off the top rope was funny but suprising, as he usually has excellent balance. Ending seemed a bit flat, coulda done with Shane involvement at some point. Nevertheless a decisive win for Kane, allowing him to go on to feud with Shane upto Unforgiven.
World Heavyweight Championship - Elimination Chamber: Triple H © def Goldberg, HBK, Jericho, Nash and Orton
What a crock of shit. Can someone, anyone objective, tell me how the ending made sense? Goldberg couldn´t get the belt because he can´t work house shows, but Triple H, who also can´t work house shows, can keep the belt? That crowd WANTED Goldberg to win, and they were into him. Goldberg plowing through Michaels, Orton, Jericho and Triple H would have almost made up for the SHITTY booking job they´ve done with Goldberg so far. But no, we get yet another Triple H win. They were a finish away from restoring Goldberg to something approaching a draw, but they decided to let ego´s intervene. So not only did Triple H bury Goldberg last night and every other challenger on Raw, he also DOUBLY buried everyone who Goldberg destroyed last night. Goldberg may take the title at Unforgiven, but it WON´T be the same. Disappointing end to an overall disppointing night which the Chamber could have saved. They managed to bury Orton and Jericho, destroy HBK´s legacy and rip out all the chamber´s credibility - ALL IN ONE NIGHT. On an end note, it doesn´t say much for the company when Coach´s heel turn was the highlight of the show.
