The seven chakras are energy centres in the body that lie along your spine. Each chakra pics up and sends out a specific type of energy. Imagine them as wheels of spinning energy.
If you have blockages in any of your chakras, they will negatively affect your magick by making it difficult for you to send or receive certain types of energy. You can open your chakras by meditating on the area of your chakra in your body. Colour meditation can be particularly helpfull. You can also use specific gemstones to open each chakra.
* The root or base chakra, located at the base of the spine, near the tailbone, is all about survival and our basic physical need for food, sleep and shelter. The root charka is red.
* The second chakra, the sacral or spleen chakra, which is just below the navel, is the centre of sexuality, sensuality and emotions. The sacral chakra is orange.
* The third chakra, located at the solar plexus, is the seat of will. The energy of the third chakra helps you make decisions, be resposible and creative, and carry out your plans. The third chakra is yellow.
* The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, concerns giving and receiving love. The heart chakra is green.
* The fifth chakra, the throat chakra, deals with our energies of communication, both in the mundane world and on the spiritual plane. The throat chakra is blue.
* The sixth chakra, located in the middle of the forehead just above the eyebrows (where the third eye - the organ of spiritual perception - is located), is the seat of psychic visions and clairvoyance. The colour is indigo or voilet.
* The seventh chakra, the crown chakra, is at the top of the head. This is our connection to spiritual wisdom and the All. The colour of the crown chakra is white.
