Consecration - arti
.:**:.:*:.:)O(:.:*:.:**:.
After you buy or finish making your magickal tools, you need to consecrate them to rid them of any negative energy they may be harboring.

The five Elements are Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit. In Wicca, each Element is associated with a direction in the ritual circle.

Earth's Direction is North, Air is East. Water is West and Fire is South. Spirit encompasses all directions because it surrounds and is part of everything.

To consecrate your athame, first light your incense. Say:

"With the Element of Air, I blow away any negative energies from this athame so that only positive energies remain. This is my will, so mote it be."

While you say these words, pass the athame through the smoke of your lit incense three times. Then say:

"With the Element of Fire, I burn away any negative energies from this athame so that only positive energies remain. This is my will, so mote it be."

Pass the athame through the flame of the lit candle three times. Then say:

"With the Element of Water, I wash away any negative energies from this athame so only positive energies remain. This is my will, so mote it be."

As you do this, place the tip of the athame in the water on your altar. Then say:

"With the Element of Earth, I bury any negative energies from this athame so that only positive energies remain. This is my will, so mote it be."

While you say these words, sprinkle salt from your altar over the athame. Finally, say:

"Lord and Lady, may you charge and protect this athame from any negativity. May your blessings be upon it as I dedicate the work of this athame for positive purposes only so as it bring harm to none. This is my will, so mote it be."

As you speak, hold your athame up to the Lord and Lady.

Go through the same process with all your altar instruments and with anything you want to place on your altar. The firs time you set up your altar, it takes some time. After the first time you don't have to reconsecrate all your tools unless someone else has touched them or you feel they need to be recharged with positive energies.
