Antlia - zantlia

Antlia
The Air Pump

Antlia is a rather faint and obscure constellation in the southern hemisphere of the sky.
It represents the pump invented by the English physicist, Robert Boyle.
There are no bright stars in Antlia.
Antlia contains the Planetary Nebula, NGC 3132, which is a large, bright Planetary Nebula which is on the borders with Vela. It is of a similar size to the more famous Ring Nebula in Lyra but much brighter. Telescopes show it to be a hazy, elliptical disc larger than the apparent size of the planet Jupiter.
