Chinese-style steaks

SERVES: 6| PREP: 5 mins, plus marinating| COOK: 10 mins

3 large rump steaks. Bunch spring onions. Trimmed and shredded. FOR THE MARINADE: 3tbsp dark soy sauce. 2 cloves garlic, crushed. 2.5 cm/ 1 inc ginger, grated. 2tbsp sesame oil. 2tbsp sherry or rice wine. 1tbsp barts chinese five spice paste.

In a shallow bowl, mix marinade ingredients and add steaks. Allow to marinate for at least 30 mins or overnight. Barbecue steaks to ur preferred done-ness and leave to rest for 15 mins. Thinly slice steaks and serve with spring onions scattered over the top.

IF ITS RAINING - follow the recipe, the put the steaks under a preheated grill instead of on the barbie.
